Establishing what words are important and what are unimportant. Getting to what words each of us expects, which are welcome and which are not. Realizing what words others expect from us and what words we can give others. Introduction for the Animator ============================= It is important to focus on what is important for the participants, what words they expect. I see this in the form of a loose discussion, exchange of thoughts, constantly circulating around these expected words. There does not have to be a necessarily planned course of discussion here, it should unfold naturally. Prayer ====== Request for opening up to each other, creating a true community, and also for the ability to search for appropriate words, their appropriate use during meetings. What words "bring tears"? * What important words have you heard once, what have you spoken? What were these words related to? Participants list words. The goal is to come to the conclusion that there is a group of words related to emotions, with important functions (expressive, impressive, causative), which affect us, change something in our life, in ourselves. Let's allow participants to speak loosely, throw ideas, but it should be given the right direction by e.g. sharing your important words. It is important to strongly emphasize the value of these words, they are the most important in this meeting. The rest is to be only a background against which they will stand out more. Meaning and Power of the Word ============================= * "You must believe in its power and meaning" What power, meaning does the word have in your life? * Is it not so that we blabber whatever comes to our tongue? It often happens that we do not pay attention to our statements, they are not specially thought out. However, they affect each of us, possess power. Conclusion: One should be aware of what one says. The word has a great influence on ourselves, on another human being. We should always remember this. In this point we talk about the power of the word - preferably the positive one :) We sensitize people to the fact that what they say changes others, changes themselves. You can show this action on an example - invent a hypothetical situation between the animator and participant(s) and ask how they would feel after some statement of the animator (during the meeting, outside of it - to choose from). For contrast, you can present two ways of conveying some information. Depends on imagination and invention :) Words That Destroy ================== * Word-destroyer? do you think such words exist? Can they destroy? What words are these? Statements that insult, humiliate, lower someone's self-esteem, cause sadness. In such statements, it is best seen what can be done with a word and what can be done to someone with this word. You can recall some examples here, refer to the experience of participants. We emphasize on these examples the power of the word (in reference to the previous point), but at the same time we also mention that just as one can hurt someone with a word, one can also comfort, fix something. Separating Words from Each Other ================================ * There are so many words, but can we sift them? Separate those that carry some value from those that do not possess it? It is possible that we do not always focus on this, we do not attach importance to it. However, we certainly possess such words that we await, which carry something more, are not just a cluster of syllables. We mentioned these words at the beginning. A good idea would be an attempt to group these slogans that have already fallen earlier during the meeting, write them down on an ongoing basis on the side on a piece of paper, and then list and together with the group determine to which category we would classify them and why. Concrete Division of Words + Applications ========================================= * So how can we divide words? .. note:: Division of words: important - colored cards, unimportant – white cards. Think about this division of words and what we would like to place on the cards. We can recall here once again these words that participants have already recognized as important and valuable, those for which they are waiting. We explain what the game with cards is about: Words on white cards are those that we heard on a given day and were not important to us; on colored ones, however, we place those that we heard on a given day and were important to us = we waited for them or those that unfortunately we did not hear, but we waited for them. And we leave them with a question to think about: * If we already know what words WE expect, what words can others expect from us? * What can you give them? * What words do you have to convey?
