Introduction

When over 20 years ago the idea emerged to organize thematic retreats for youth from the parish, none of us were aware that we were beginning work whose fruit would include, among other things, this publication. We simply wanted to do something good. Over time, we began to reach for the materials we had created while preparing meetings throughout the year or during vacations, seeking a source of inspiration. Some of these outlines traveled the world and are copied from animator to animator, living their own life. To our surprise, we received information from people living on the other side of Poland about how meetings based on our materials turned out for them. The idea to gather our work in one place therefore seemed natural. When we put together everything we managed to find in our archives, we could only summarize it with words from Noah's Ark: *"We must save what is most precious, and yet there is already so much of it!"*

We publish our materials "as they are"; we did not interfere with their content, we only performed editorial work to unify their appearance. Why do we make them available? To inspire! If someone has a desire to use entire outlines or parts of them in work for the Kingdom of God, let nothing limit them. However, this does not exhaust our motivation. This publication is above all a concrete testimony to the good that took place in the small village of Babice near Racibórz. Hundreds of young people experienced an encounter with Jesus; during prayers we were witnesses to conversions; at meetings we saw how God responds to questions about the meaning of life. It is surprising how a few pages of paper written in ink help create a space in which God works with a person. We know this very well—over 20 times we experienced developing not only outlines, but entire retreats "from scratch." From our current perspective, we can say with full responsibility that the time of creating these materials was no less important to us than the retreats themselves.

In the experience of animation, we encountered Christ. This happened not only during group meetings, but also on evenings preceding retreats when we struggled to write the next lines of these outlines. Let it therefore become manifest, for *"We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." (Acts 4:20)*.
